Death of Brother Joseph Radice, P.I.M.E.

Brother Joseph Adolph Radice, PIME, died
after a sudden heart attack on the morning of 7 September 1969 in the rectory of St.
Margaret’s Church, aged 52. He was buried in the Catholic Cemetery in Happy Valley on 10
September.
Brother Radice was born in 1917 and came to Hong Kong in 1948. From then onward he worked
as Assistant Procurator of the PIME Mission in Hong Kong and at any other task that would
help St. Margaret’s Parish or the diocese or anyone who needed his help.
It is not enough to say that he was well-known to parishioners of St. Margaret’s Church;
he had an enviable gift for instant and undoubting friendship and his circle of friends
extended all over the diocese. His twenty-one years of service to the Hong Kong Mission
were twenty-one years of unfailing devotion, good sense and cheerfulness.
Bishop Francis Hsu of Hong Kong was the principal celebrant at the concelebrated Requiem
Mass at St. Margaret's Church on 10 September at 10am Bishop Hsu also officiated at the
funeral.

宗 座 外 方 傳 教 會 會 士 華 理 志 修 士 ， 因 心 臟 病 突 發 ， 於 一 九 六 九 年 九 月 七 日 凌 晨 病 逝 聖 瑪 加 利 大 堂 。
華 理 志 修 士 生 於 一 九 一 七 年 ， 一 九 四 八 年 從 義 大 利 奉 派 來 港 ， 自 此 擔 任 宗 座 外 方 傳 教 會 香 港 分 會 總 務 助 理 。
華 理 志 修 士 平 易 近 人 ， 和 藹 可 親 ， 處 事 負 責 ， 在 本 教 區 服 務 的 廿 一 年 期 間 ， 深 得 聖 瑪 加 利 大 堂 信 眾 及 各 界 教 友 愛 戴 ， 今 一 旦 去 世 ， 聞 者 惋 惜 。
安 所 彌 撒 於 十 日 上 午 十 時 在 聖 瑪 加 利 大 堂 舉 行 ， 由 祁 良 神 父 主 祭 。 徐 主 教 親 臨 主 持 赦 宥 亡 者 儀 式 和 葬 禮 。
華 理 志 修 士 遺 體 下 葬 跑 馬 地 天 主 教 墳 場 。
