Death of Sister Chan
Former Superior General of Precious Blood Sisters
Sister Lucy Chan, of the Sisters of the Precious Blood, died on 7 April 1978 in the Precious Blood Hospital, aged 90. Requiem Mass was celebrated on 11 April in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Shamshuipo, and burial took place in the St. Raphael Cemetery, Cheung Sha Wan, after Mass.
Sister Lucy Chan was from Nam Hoi, Kwangtung Province. Born
on 13 December 1888, she entered the Precious Blood Convent in 1906. After
taking vows she began doing mission work and education. She was Novice Mistress
for fifteen years and Superior General for nineteen years. She had done much to
educate the young in her life time. During the Second World War she was one of
the foremost in her Congregation to render service to the sick and suffering,
the poor and the needy.

寶 血 女 修 會 陳 露 濟 亞 修 女 ， 於 一 九 七 八 年 四 月 七 日 晨 六 時 三 十 分 病 逝 寶 血 醫 院 ， 享 年 九 十 歲 。
寶 血 女 修 會 於 本 月 十 一 日 下 午 一 時 正 ， 假 九 龍 聖 方 濟 各 堂 為 陳 修 女 舉 行 安 息 彌 撒 ， 隨 即 出 殯 安 葬 長 沙 灣 天 主 教 墳 場 。
陳 露 濟 亞 修 女 原 籍 廣 東 南 海 ， 生 於 一 八 八 八 年
十 二 月 十 三 日 ， 於 一 九 ０ 六 年 入 寶 血 會 修 道 ， 發 願 後 多 從 事 傳 教 、 教 育 工 作 ， 並 曾 任 該 會 初
學 導 師 十 五 年 ， 總 會 長 十 九 年 ， 對 於 作 育 英 才 ， 扶 掖 後 進 ， 不 遺 餘 力 ； 對 該 會 於 第 二 次 世 界
大 戰 期 間 之 貢 獻 尤 大 ， 現 今 與 世 長 辭 ， 各 界 友 好 ， 莫 不 極 為 惋 惜 云 。
