長洲花地瑪聖母堂歷史知多D

簡介：
1930年代，天主教開展在長洲的傳教活動。1952年，廖錫光神父 (1918-1990) 負責赤柱、長洲及大澳的牧民工作。在長洲，當時名為「法地瑪聖母堂」的第一所聖堂由戴遐齡副主教 (Antonius Riganti PIME, 1893-1965) 祝聖後，廖神父成為首位主任司鐸。1961年，白英奇主教 (Lorenzo Bianchi PIME, 1899-1983) 主持新聖堂祝聖儀式，至1979年正式易名為「花地瑪聖母堂」。本場講者黎國榮弟兄是長洲資深教友，相信從他的講述中，我們可以對長洲堂區的歷史知多D。

近年，香港史研究愈益受到學者的重視。當我們從不同角度檢視香港的歷史發展時，不應忽視宗教在其中扮演的獨特角色。本講嘗試以基督新教為中心，檢視不同學者的研究，藉此重尋隱藏在「世俗」歷史中的「神聖」，並在「神聖」中重構「世俗」。

and Government Reports to Unravel the History of Catholic Schools in Hong Kong

簡介：
李美琪博士將在本場講座跟我們分享一個研究本地教會歷史的重要資源：香港政府年度工作報告的五大部分之一——《香港藍皮書》(Hong Kong Blue Book, 1844-1940)。她的研究焦點落在十九世紀的「教育」和「學校數目回報」兩項。究竟香港政府當年如何對不同宗教信仰的學校進行分類？十九世紀《藍皮書》記錄了哪些早期的天主教學校？《藍皮書》告訴我們當時香港天主教教育的景況如何？我們從書中數據可以知道早期天主教學校怎樣運作？

This talk will look into one of five parts of the Hong Kong Government Reports, i.e. the Hong Kong Blue Books. Particular focus will be given to the section of "Education" and the “Returns of the Number of Schools” in the 19th century. How did the early Hong Kong Government categorize schools of different religious affiliations in those days? Which were some of the early Catholic schools found in the 19th century’s Blue Books? How much do the Blue Books tell us about the Catholic education landscape in the 19th century Hong Kong? What do the data in these entries tell us about the operations of these early Catholic schools?

歐洲哥德復興式建築藝術於19世紀末達致巔峰，這一趨勢透過歐洲傳教士廣泛影響亞洲。本場講座探討在香港殖民歷史的初期階段，教堂建築在視覺與美學方面是如何呈現，並開闊眼界，以澳洲和日本近代教堂建築進行比較分析。

The late 19th century marked the zenith of the Gothic Revival movement in Europe, a trend that reached extensively into Asia through the influence of European missionaries. Then, how were the visual and aesthetic aspects of church architecture manifested during the initial phases of Hong Kong’s colonial history? A comparative analysis will encompass the contemporary church structures in Australia and Japan.

喇沙書院：校史與校園軼事
講者：黃嘉為弟兄 Mr. Mark Huang（75周年校慶歷史專書作者，喇沙書院舊生會前主席）

簡介：
由喇沙修士會於 1932 年創立的天主教男校——喇沙書院，多年來見證著香港的重要歷史時刻，學生亦一直被大眾暱稱為「喇沙仔」。這次講座就是由喇沙仔親自介紹書院豐富多彩的歷史及曾經面對的挑戰。此外亦會透過武術家李小龍、作曲家黃霑等著名喇沙仔的軼事，講述學校的歷史沿革，以及一些鮮為人知的校園佳話。

不知大家對「可敬者」利瑪竇神父的認識有多少？在他最終加入聖人行列之前，本小組今年最後一場講座邀請到有份推動其列品案的柯毅霖神父，談談利瑪竇，以及他在晚明中國傳教必不可少的本地合作者如徐光啟，他們之間如何相交相知，為後世留下甚麼樣的寶貴遺產？

How far do you know about "Venerable" Father Matteo Ricci? Before he was eventually canonized, for our last online talk this year, we have invited Father Gianni Criveller PIME, who played a key role in promoting his sainthood cause, to talk about Ricci and his indispensable local collaborators in missionary work in late Ming China, such as Paul Xu Guangqi. How was their friendship and interaction with each other, and what precious legacy did they leave for future generations?
